MATCH 1 - BR FANG VS BR GREYBACK

BR Fang had to face BR Greyback in their first internal match of BRIL - 2022.

Since the Vendor was not able to courier our Fang team Jersey on time, we had decided to field with BR Orange Jersey for our first internal match. 

We (BR Fang) won the toss and elected to field first. 

Rahul Dev & Greger started the bowling for BR Fang, later followed by Chandra Simha in the Powerplay. The Duo Partnership of Chandra Simha & Rahul Dev got the opponents lose two wickets for 15 runs in the Powerplay. Their Opening batsman were unable to make a good start. But their third wicket partnership between Pratheek & Vivek Arya gave them a hope and in the process, they accumulated 50 runs for the third wicket. Later, our bowlers came back strong and been economical in the middle overs. Logesh & Chirag Hedge were the other two economical bowlers who bowled at the right line and length. There were couple of missed opportunities which helped Pratheek score 72 runs off 78 balls. Finally, BR Greyback gave us a target of 199 runs with completion of 30 overs.

Following the first innings, Manu Sharma & Ashok S went to open the innings for BR Fang. Manu Sharma started scoring boundaries in style and gave a good start to BR Fang. After a good start, we had a batting collapse which costed us two quick wickets in the Powerplay. There came two solid batsman of BR Fang - Mohit Verma & Varun Prasad who steadied the innings for BR Fang. Varun Prasad - 60(54) & Mohit Verma  - 36(42), both together scored 88 runs for third wicket Partnership. With the required run rate increasing to 6+, both the set batsman got out back to back in three overs which added extra responsibility to the new batsman in the crease. Mohamed Rizwan & Chandrasimha who were supposed to finish the game failed to do it. With 46 runs required in last 6 overs, BR Greyback captain (Abhijit Khande) got his strategies right and got his best bowlers (Sathyakumar & Vinoth Paul) for the death overs who made us struggle to score runs. At the end, we (BR Fang) lost the match by 13 runs. 

Not to forget, The Intent and the vibe from both the teams to win this match was phenomenal and vibrant.
