BR Czar won the toss and elected to bat first.
Though we lost the toss, I was thinking of chasing the target given by BR Czar. BR Czar started aggressively, but lost three quick wickets inside the powerplay. Their Opening batsman Gaurav Bajaj attacked all our bowlers in the powerplay scoring 32 runs in 19 balls. It was our two bowlers Varun Desai and Manas Tudu who kept taking wickets regularly, and kept the batsman silent for a while. Manas Tudu who was accurate in his bowling ended up taking 4 wickets at 6.75 economy. But, their middle order and their finishers played sensibly well to get the score moving. Out of the all the bowlers, Manas Unfortunately we had three catch drops of their important batsman Raghu & Raj which helped them score 227 in 30 overs.
Following the first innings, Sandeep Kakarlamudi and Aditya Patil went to open the innings for BR Fang. Both the Openers started well before losing their wickets to Raghu. From thereon, batting was a total collapse with wickets falling quickly. The team missed to stabilize when there had been time to play long. Only one batsman (Varun Desai) from BR Fang played well to the situation and was able to score 30+ runs holding one end very strong. Not to forget the efforts of the opponent Wicket Keeper Shankar with 7 dismissals that includes 6 Caught Behind and 1 stumping. With the batting collapse, we had lost the match scoring 135 runs in 23.1 overs.
Match Result: BR Czar Won by 92 runs
It was an experience for BR Fang to understand about batting temperament and playing in Partnerships.
Positives from this match:
- Controlled & Economical bowling - Manas Tudu, Varun Desai, Pulkit Bajpai, Chirag Hegde
- Matured Innings & Much needed Innings - Varun Desai
- Converting singles and doubles whenever there is an opportunity
- Batting Temperament in the middle overs
- Fielding needs a lot of improvement and easy catches to be collected
- Should have avoided giving easy opportunity to their bowlers to take wickets
- Cheering self and Cheering the team to be improved
